Students from Woodlands Academy in Spilsby were given the chance to sit on board a real fire engine during a fun-packed visit to Lindum Business Park in North Hykeham.
The group of 6 teenagers had a guided tour of our in-house plant workshop, which services and maintains Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue’s fleet of vehicles.
Students changed a tyre, serviced a water pump and turned on a giant extractor fan used by the fire service.
It was smiles all round when pupils watered plants on the business park with a fire hose and were shown around the fire service equipment.
James Larder, Managing Director of Lindum Plant, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to host our new friends from Woodlands Academy on their visit to our business park.
“Making a positive difference to the local community is part of Lindum’s DNA. We welcome people with open arms to experience what we do.”
Carl Norbron, KS4 Lead at Woodlands Academy, said “This had been a long time coming, a well-deserved trip for our new Year 10s.
“All the pupils enjoyed their time. I would like to thank Lindum Group for this amazing opportunity and look forward to more experiences with them in the future.”
