Louth Distillery
Born from an idea to make gin and sell Christmas Trees, the heritage of Louth Distillery – formerly Bottomley Distillers – began back in the 1950s with the original Mr Stansfield Bottomley, a passionate small-scale whisky producer. Beginning his trade in West Yorkshire before moving on to Lincolnshire in the early 1980s with his wife and two sons – today’s distilling outfit is fronted by Amy Conyard and Alan Bottomley – Stansfield’s grandson. Having moved into larger premises, which is currently under renovation to introduce a state-of-the-art, sustainable, automated production line, the award-winning Louth Distillery is known for its Pin Gin range of London Dry, Premium Pink, Valencian Orange, and Winter Spiced, as well as it’s Rum Cat Caribbean rum and Lincolnshire Grain Whisky Spirit. With renovation work due to be completed imminently, tours and tasting experiences are due to commence at the incredible new distillery at Fusion Way, Bolingbroke Road, Louth.

A Little Luxury Distillery
Peppered with Great Taste Awards is A Little Luxury Distillery. A mother-and-daughter-run distillery, A Little Luxury specialises in the production of award-winning, artisan-made gins, rums and gin liqueurs. Heralding from rural Lincolnshire, the team is passionate about producing high-quality small-batch products using Britain’s best ingredients. Starting out as a small preserves company in 2011, a form of physical therapy for Barbara who was involved in a life-changing car accident, the business grew slowly and the range of preserves topped 80 varieties! By 2016 too much fruit was coming off the local farm to use within the preserves and hating to waste such lovely fruit mother and daughter searched for other ways to use it, with thoughts turning back to Grandma who loved making fruit-flavoured gins – the idea for the distillery was born. A Little Luxury now has numerous working stills; Bob, the small test still that is still used to trial new recipes, Vera (named in honour of the Canadian Lancaster named Vera who visited Lincolnshire in 2014), Whanau (pronounced far-now this Maori word means family), with new still, Maude, who joined the family in January 2020.

Batemans Brewery
Passed down through four generations of the Bateman family, Batemans Brewery is a long-established Lincolnshire business and must-visit destination. Founded on a story of enterprise, innovation, and good honest human values, you’ll spot the Batemans name on bars and buildings across the county and beyond. Founded in 1874 by George and Susannah Bateman, the great-grandparents of current brewers Jaclyn and Stuart, the Brewery was used to supply the local farmers, who paid their land workers part in produce, part in money and part in beer. The family has been making well-loved beers and running great pubs to the highest standard ever since. After four generations, the business is still independent to the bone, an independence that has been hard fought for and is fiercely protected to this day. Take the opportunity to explore the brewing process Batemans is so proud of on one of their regular brewery tours.
